Risk Manager

The Risk Manager will design, implement, monitor and continually improve the internal Risk Management Program. The Risk Management program(s) will provide a structured process for the flow of information and investigation of issues, be proactive to minimize real or potential risks and/or liabilities, provide loss control measures, support the Patient Safety Program, and promote risk reduction strategies by educating the Hospital and Medical staff.   Elements of the Risk Management Program will be designed and implemented to meet the standards of practice, protect the Hospital's self-insured insurance program, provide claim information to . the Third Party Claim Administrator, with a focus on loss prevention. The program will strive to continuously improve work processes specific to risk management and prevention: MGH Incident Reporting system (QAIR), early warning systems, identification of high risk events/near misses and sentinel event management, Hospital and Medical Staff education, performance improvement team participation, etc.     The Risk Manager must develop excellent working relationships with Hospital Leaders, the Medical Staff and the Hospital staff at large to elicit cooperation for excellent program outcomes. Statistical and qualitative risk management information (reports) will be provided on a regular and timely basis to Administration, Department leaders, the Medical and Hospital staff. EDUCATION 1.      Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related Health Care field required 2.      Medical-legal working knowledge required. 3.      Master's degree in related field preferred. 4.      Law degree preferred.   EXPERIENCE 1.      3-5 years direct experience in risk management required. 2.      3-5 years direct patient care experience required. 3.      3-5 years experience in clinical health care management preferred.     PREREQUISITE SKILLS 1.      Clinical knowledge and expertise to effectively develop, coordinate, and monitor programs related to risk management, and regulatory compliance. 2.      Ability to work in diverse teams. 3.      Ability to work collaboratively a variety of groups and individual people. 4.      Expertise in data collection, analysis and presentation. 5.      Ability to manage change processes. 6.      Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks, using excellent time management skills and exhibiting attention to detail. 7.      Intermediate computer knowledge. 8.      Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. 9.      Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. 10.  Knowledge of regulations (Joint Commission, State and Federal. 11.  Knowledge of audit/study methodology and health statistics. 12.  Ability to perform job functions in a professional manner that respects the level of confidentiality necessary to be seen as reliable and trustworthy.   LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATIONCurrent and valid California RegisteredNurse licenserequired.   9163- EL101

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
