Admitting Representative
JOB
Summary:
Coordinates and performs patient registrations and completion of all demographic and financial information necessary for a complete registration. Further responsible for assuring patient wait times are minimized, patient satisfaction is high and overall quality is at or above 97%. Also responsible for preparing materials related to these processes.
EDUCATION:
High School or GED. Associates degree in healthcare or business field preferred.
Experience:
One or more years of progressive experience working in one of the following areas in an acute care setting: Admitting/Registration, Pre-admission Process, Insurance Verification or clerical experience in a heatlhcare setting is preferred. Computer experience is required.
PREREQUISITE SKILLS:
Strong working knowledge of overall aspects of the admissions process as it relates to patient admissions, pre admissions, insurance verification and customer service. Must be able to work tactfully and professionally with patients, family members and all other hospital staff they encounter. Ability to problem solve, multi task efficiently and organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with preference to speaking English, Spanish or other languages. Understanding of the overall diversity of our patient population and treating everyone with respect and courtesy.
